Meyer Orchideen AG (Wangen-Brüttisellen)

The roots of today's Meyer Orchideen AG go back to 1937. At that time, Hermann and Louise Meyer founded a vegetable farm on the current nursery site in Roswis.

1962 - Ornamental plants In 1962, in the second generation of son Peter Meyer, the first ornamental plants were cultivated. From 1968 onwards, the variety of crops, initially required for capital reasons, led to a consistent focus on specialty crops. As the only company in Switzerland, bromeliads (pineapple plants) were cultivated in large numbers on an area of about 10,000 m². 1980 - Orchids In 1980 the farm started to cultivate orchids, increasing the quantity every year. In 1998 the cultivation of bromeliads was stopped. Since then only orchids are produced.

In 2002 Hanspeter Meyer was allowed to take over the farm from his father Peter in the third generation. Currently, we produce annually on an area of 16,000 m2 about 400,000 orchids in many exclusive varieties.
