THE KÜNDIG NURSERIES AG It all began in 1956 on a farm in Ibach. Anton Kündig Sr. founded with two of his sons, Anton Jr. and Ruedi Sr. the company: Anton Kündig and Sons. In the beginning it was a horticultural company with a small nursery share. With steady growth, the company was reorganized into horticulture and nursery departments. 1966 Anton Kündig senior from the collective company. But he continued to work in the company. From then on they called themselves Gebr. Kündig. In 1987 the company was registered in the Commercial Register as a joint-stock company with the new name Kündig Nurseries Ltd. 40 years after the foundation, i.e. in 1996, Ruedi Kündig jr. and Monika Kündig bought all shares in the third generation. Ruedi is a trained arborist. Monika completed an apprenticeship as a gardener, specializing in perennials, when the company was taken over. Sons Matthias, a gardener specializing in landscape with a technician's degree, and Pascal, a gardener specializing in nursery with a senior gardener's degree, are already fully involved in the business.

Kündig Nurseries Ltd. is divided into different divisions. About 20-25 employees work in the nursery. We are currently training one apprentice in the perennial department and two apprentices in the nursery. Ruedi Kündig is the managing director of the entire Kündig Baumschulen AG. These are gardeners and horticulturists from communities and cities. Pascal Kündig is responsible for culture and human resources in the container and outdoor nursery. The perennial department is a subgroup of the nursery. Fabienne Müller (horticulturist with federal certificate in production) is in charge of the perennial department. Managed by Hans Moor, nurseryman, with assistance from the perennial department. They are assisted by other specialists when needed.

Our challenge is to sell our native plants despite the attractive exotic plants. We feel the competition from wholesalers. Fortunately, today there are still enough customers who pay attention to quality and regionality.

The horticultural department is headed by Urs Kündig (horticulturist). He is assisted by Matthias Kündig. The strengths of our horticulture department are: Planning of new plants, remodeling and professional maintenance work.
