DGJ Landscapes GmbH (Zürich)

DGJ Landscapes is a small experienced firm of garden and landscape architects. It was founded in 1999 as Drexler Guinand Jauslin Architects in Frankfurt, Zurich and Rotterdam. DGJ has realized more than 25 public and private buildings, gardens and landscape projects mainly in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, some of which have won awards. DGJ has won awards in more than 30 competitions and achieved first place 12 times.

Since 2011, our focus has been on landscape architecture operating from Zurich under "DGJ Landscapes", while "DGJ Architecture" in Frankfurt specializes in sustainable architecture and energy efficient building. The current expansion of "DGJ Paysages" in France will extend our reach to the fascinating urban environment of Paris and the rural landscape of the Plaine de Versailles.

Good architecture and landscape design offer a multi-layered, culturally rooted perspective and a strategic, flexible design method. With sustainable design design, DGJ works with strategic foresight and dedicated craftsmanship in everything from the architectural composition of the landscape to the fabrication of details.

Landscape design becomes the concept of creating a spatial connection between people and the environment. Our outdoor design projects are especially valuable because they involve the public and diverse user groups in the planning process. We work in teams with other specialists, especially architects and engineers, on a variety of assignments.

The combination of architecture and landscape in design theory is the focus of our teaching and research. Landscape architect Daniel Jauslin worked on the establishment of an MSc program in Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment at TU Delft from 2008 to 2015. From 2012-18, he taught landscape architecture design at Wageningen University with Prof. Adriaan Geuze, where he continues to be a visiting researcher.
