Widmer's Gartenleben (Häusernmoos im Emmental)

The history of Widmer nursery dates back to 1947. Elisabeth Widmer began in the 1st generation with the production of small potted plants and seedlings on an area of 7 m2. Working with plants was her great passion. Her project soon aroused great interest among the village population and the Widmer kindergarten rewarded her with their first purchases. Elisabeth Widmer's open manner in dealing with her customers, as well as her experience and enthusiasm for her job, enabled the kindergarten to grow carefully, step by step.

Her son Hanspeter Widmer was born as the youngest of four children. He also showed a great passion for this diverse profession at an early age. Over the years, the product range was constantly expanded due to demand and increasing customer requirements. Hanspeter Widmer finally took over the Widmer nursery in 1986 as the 2nd generation with much joy and motivation. Of course, Elisabeth Widmer continued to work as an important pillar in the company.

Finally, in 2012, Lars Widmer dared to take the step towards independence and now follows in the footsteps of his ancestors as the third generation. With his father still active in his gardening business, he has expanded the family business to include another branch of the green industry - horticulture. There are no limits to the variety and creativity of the gardener in this field, and that is what makes this profession so lively, exciting and varied. The work in the nursery also perfectly complements that in landscaping and horticulture. Be it with seasonal plants, vegetable growing and up to the bouquet or arrangement.
